The city of Seaside Oregon is in the process of engaging in community-wide conversations around homelessness. Here’s a schedule for future conversations… and videos of forums you missed. The following is a note from Seaside City Councilor Tita Montero:
As I investigate more about strategies being employed by cities and counties around the state regarding all the issues surrounding the homeless population, I am learning about a myriad of organizations, techniques, funding mechanisms, etc. While the many aspects of this issue cannot be improved quickly, I sense that our county is ‘behind the curve’. I see the benefits of working across a county as well as across several counties to achieve some economy of scale.
As Seaside works on the issues, I see opportunities for many to work together. The forums we’re presenting in Seaside provides energy and information in moving forward.
