Progress Report – June 2020

Friends,
Here are some updates,news items and resources from our research and outreach since our latest May progress report…

1. Update on Friends House. Last week, a generous donor delivered a brand new washing machine to Friends House! That completes everything on our initial wish list! We are overwhelmed with the generosity that this community has demonstrated in taking this empty house to a welcoming, functioning home. We have created a walk-through video so that you can all get an idea what it looks like inside. We are now in the process of interviewing potential renters.
2. COVID-19 Made Ending Homelessness Even More Critical. Clarksburg, West Virginia, had mapped out a plan to create a housing-first program for its homeless population. Then the pandemic hit, and the plan went into overdrive….
