Progress Report – 5/10/2019

There has been a lot of activity since our LCDC meeting on Homelessness in Astoria. Here is a brief update.

(1) The Board of Filling Empty Bellies (FEB) has agreed to be the umbrella non-profit for grant applications in support of a Drop-in Center. (2) Members of the FEB Board met with Rep. Tiffiny Mitchell, who expressed an interest in supporting our efforts to support the people who are homeless in the County. She said she didn’t have any money but she is willing to a) serve on an advisory board, b) attend and offer her support at a community conversation or a public fund raising event, and (c) write a letter of support that we can use in grant applications. <read more…>
